Henk, Marieke and Lennon warmly welcome you to Haus Waldruhe!

From the 1st of Februari 2021 we made our dreams come true and started as hosts and owners of this idyllic retreat in the village of Mallnitz at the height of 1200 meters or 4000 feet. Mallnitz resides in one of the largest and most beautifull nature reserves of Carinthia, called “Hohe Tauern”.

We will do everything in our power to give you an unforgetable summer or winter holiday in one of our 7 fully equipped apartments. Experience the real Austrian Gemütlichkeit with a modern touch.

Alpine Pearls Austria

We are a member of Alpine Pearls Austria. This membership comes with advantages for both you as guest as well as the environment. Instead of using your car, you can use several shuttles, hike and ski couches as well as taxi’s, all free of charge. On arrival, we will provide you with a Guest & Mobility Card. This card can be used for the mentioned services, but will also give you a discount on the rental of equipment, such as bikes in the summer or cross country skis in the winter season. You can also participate in the guided summer or winter hikes, free of charge.

For guests arriving by train, the Alpine Pearls offers a shuttle service from Mallnitz station. “The last mile” must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance and this can be done through us.
We ensure that transport is ready as soon as you arrive in our beautiful village, which will take you to our front door.

Our apartments

Haus Waldruhe has 7 apartments: Two fit for five people, three fit for four people and two studios, fit for two people. They all have a fantastic mountain view and come fully equipped.

Summer holiday

The surrounding of Mallnitz are ideal for an active summer holiday. Hiking, biking, rafting or swimming; everything is possible in the Austrian Alps. We can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Winter sports

The connected cabines of the Ankogelbahn will bring you from the valley station on a height of 1200 m (4000 ft) in two steps to the tracks. The first step ends in Hochalmblick (2000 m / 6600 ft) and is followed by the second step to Elschesattel (2636 m / 8600 ft).

Snowboarding

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced snowboarder, the area offers everything you need for a exciting snowboard holiday.

Cross country skiing

The valleys around Mallnitz offer everything that true cross country skiers need. Enjoy the beautifull and quiet winter scenery of Austria’s nature reserve Hohe Tauren.
